Chapter 41: Daddy’s Here
Sean’s face was pale from pain as he broke free from Olivia’s restraints.
The vice principal rushed to support him, expressing concern, “Mr. Stone, are you all right?”
Sean pushed her away furiously and glared at Olivia. “You’ve got some nerve, laying hands on me! Let me tell you! Your son can forget about staying in this kindergarten…”
He ordered the vice principal, “Expel this brat immediately!”
“Yes, Mr. Stone. I’ll get it done right away.” The sycophantic vice principal readily agreed.
Olivia ignored them, focusing solely on examining Liam’s condition. Besides the swollen bruise on his forehead, he also bore bruises on various parts of his body. Seeing them made her blood boil. She asked urgently, “Are there any other injuries?”
Liam shook his head, indicating he was not hurt anywhere else.
Olivia breathed a sigh of relief, but her fury remained unabated. Instead, it intensified.
She held Liam’s tiny hand and looked at the two adults before her. “Expulsion? Do you plan to expel him without even understanding the reasons? Where’s the surveillance footage? Retrieve it immediately! I want to see it now! Otherwise, I’ll call the police.”
With that, Olivia took out her phone, ready to make the call.
The vice principal retorted in annoyance, “What’s the use of calling the police? Do you think that will save your son from being expelled? He committed such a heinous act on the first day of school. Who knows, he might become a criminal and a societal menace! I advise you to leave…”
She smirked contemptuously before continuing in a mocking tone, “Mr. Stone is not someone you can afford to provoke! If you apologize now, maybe there’s still a chance for your son. Otherwise, no school will dare take him in!”
“Who are you calling a criminal and a societal menace?”
At that moment, a sharp question sounded from the doorway. A man’s low and intimidating tone sent chills down everyone’s spine. Everyone was startled and glanced at the doorway.
Nathan entered the room with steady strides, exuding an aura of regal nobility and the weight of long-held authority. His presence carried a potent mix of ruthlessness and intimidation. As he entered, everyone felt the temperature in the room drop a few degrees.
“Dad…”
Liam’s expression was a mix of surprise and joy. His tears had not yet dried, making his already luminous eyes shimmer more brilliantly. Despite the emotions bubbling within him, he refrained from rushing forward. Instead, he carefully glanced at his mother and held back, afraid of making her sad.
Nathan approached Liam and looked down at him. His gaze turned even colder when he noticed Liam’s tears and his aggrieved expression. He gently patted Liam’s head and reassured him. “Don’t be afraid. I’m here!”
Liam nodded quietly, feeling an immense sense of security in his heart.
Observing this scene, Olivia remained silent, her mouth slightly agape. She was surprised that Nathan had arrived so soon.
Nathan stared at the vice principal intimidatingly. “Care to repeat what you said earlier?”
The vice principal felt a chill running down her spine under Nathan’s intense gaze. Nathan’s demeanor was too terrifying.
However, she gathered courage, thinking she had Sean to back her up. “What? Did I say something wrong? This woman started hitting people as soon as she arrived. One can only imagine the quality of the children she raises. I’ve already been lenient with my criticism of your son. Mr. Stone’s son is the cream of the crop, precious in every way. What is your son compared to him…”
The vice principal spoke with increasing fervor, not noticing the drastic change in Sean’s expression beside her. Trembling in fear, Sean was oblivious to his arm’s pain. Terror consumed his entire being from the moment he laid eyes on Nathan.
