Chapter 40: Are You Qualified?
Anger surged within Olivia. Her beautiful eyes flickered with intense hostility.
She entered the room with brisk strides, catching everyone off guard. Before anyone could react, she seized Sean’s wrist and skillfully twisted his arm behind his back with force.
The considerable force dislocated his bones with a sharp crack.
“Argh!” Sean screamed. The agony induced beads of cold sweat on his forehead.
He struggled desperately, trying to turn around to see who attacked him. “Who are you? Let go of me! Have you lost your mind? How dare you lay hands on me?”
Yet, Olivia was not intimidated. Her icy gaze landed on the vice principal. “What an extraordinary school this is. All the adults and teachers teamed up to bully my son?”
Her solemn words cut through the room, devoid of warmth. The room felt as though it had plunged into an icy abyss.
Brody stood stupefied. Even the vice principal and teacher were frozen, momentarily forgetting how to react.
Only Liam, freed from Sean’s restraint, burst into tears upon hearing his mother’s voice. “Mommy…”
He ran and embraced her legs. His delicate face was full of grievances. “Mommy. It wasn’t me who hit him first. Brody threw a ball at me in the first place, and I defended myself. The teacher forced me to apologize and threatened to beat me as punishment…”
His voice choked with sobs as he spoke, breaking Olivia’s heart.
Ever since he was a kid, her son was always smart and wise, and everyone just loved him wherever he went.
Liam rarely cried. He must have been greatly wronged to cry so pitifully.
The thought enraged Olivia. She tightened her grip, nearly breaking Sean’s arm.
“Ahh!” Sean wailed in pain, prompting the vice principal to snap out of her stupor. “You’re out of line! Let go of Mr. Stone now!”
Olivia’s beautiful eyes were cold as she looked at the old woman before her. “Who do you think you are? How dare you order me around? You allowed other parents to lay hands on my son. Are you even qualified to be a teacher?”
“You…”
The vice principal’s displeasure was evident. Her expression darkened, and her tone was laced with anger. “How can you speak like this? Your child hit another student first, and instead of reprimanding him, you defend him. You’re setting a bad example!”
“You claim he attacked first. Did you witness it yourself, or did someone else see it?” Olivia asked sharply.
The vice principal was rendered speechless. Of course, she had not witnessed it. But in the current situation, she had to say she did even if she hadn’t seen it.
“I saw it with my own eyes. It was your son who started the fight!”
“Oh really? With your sycophantic attitude, I don’t believe a word you say?” Olivia countered confidently.
Then, she turned to the teacher beside her. “Can you tell me what happened? Or did you see it too?”
The teacher was scared. She hesitated briefly before deciding to speak the truth.
However, the vice principal warned, “Ms. Hayes, watch your words!”
Ms. Hayes immediately fell silent.
Olivia suddenly smiled. “All right then. You all claim to have witnessed it, but I firmly believe my son wouldn’t lie. Since that’s the case, let’s check the surveillance footage for the truth! If it’s true that my son started the fight, then he deserves to be beaten! If not… I’ll call the police.”
After saying this, Olivia let go of Sean.
