Chapter 39: Beat You to a Pulp
More than ten minutes had passed since Olivia had rushed to the kindergarten.
Meanwhile, Brody’s father, Sean Stone, had arrived at the vice principal’s office and questioned the vice principal aggressively. “Who dared to hit my son! Have they lost their mind?”
He had always doted on and indulged his son at home. Thus, he was furious to discover that someone had beaten his son so severely in kindergarten.
“Bring the culprit out to me!” Sean ordered fiercely.
The vice principal replied immediately. “Mr. Stone, please calm down. The culprit has already been summoned. Look, it’s the boy beside him.”
She pointed to Liam and continued, “This child has just transferred here today and had a conflict with your son while playing outside! I have already reprimanded him and informed his parents! They should be here soon.”
Hearing this, Sean narrowed his eyes and stared at Liam. The boy had a fair complexion, with no injuries other than a bump on his forehead, which contrasted with Brody.
Sean was annoyed. “I won’t waste words on this. Any kid who hits my son will be beaten up, even if his parents arrive. My son is precious. Who is this kid to lay hands on him?”
Then, he glanced at Brody and continued, “Go and hit back. If there’s any trouble, I’ll deal with it.”
With his father’s backing, Brody became more confident, immediately nodding. His face turned fierce. “William, I’m going to beat you to a pulp!”
After saying that, he lunged forward.
The vice principal watched indifferently, but the teacher tried to intervene. “Mr. Stone, conflicts among children are inevitable. Isn’t this a bit excessive? Let’s wait until William’s parents arrive before discussing the matter further.”
“This has nothing to do with you. Stay out of it unless you want to lose your job!” Sean glared at the teacher coldly.
The teacher’s expression subtly changed when she heard those words. She did not know who Sean was, but the vice principal’s obsequious attitude indicated that he held significant influence.
As she contemplated how to handle the situation, Brody began charging toward Liam with unwavering determination.
Liam, however, would not allow Brody to lay a hand on him. He dodged swiftly, and his movements were agile. His speed left Brody grasping at thin air and his face crimson with frustration.
Seeing this, Sean stepped forward and grabbed Liam by his shirt collar. “You little brat, still trying to evade?”
Liam struggled against the grip and protested, “I didn’t do anything wrong! Brody attacked me first! Why won’t you ask for the reason before hitting me? Usually, when I make a mistake, Mommy asks for the reason first. And she has never hit me.”
Sean sneered, “You laid hands on Brody. This alone is enough reason to beat you up! However, as an adult, I won’t dirty my hand. I’ll let Brody teach you a lesson.”
With that, he signaled Brody.
Brody lunged forward, delivering a solid punch to Liam’s stomach. The impact left Liam with teary eyes.
The teacher was anxious and tried to stop them. “Mr. Stone, isn’t this going too far?”
“Mind your own business!” The vice principal grabbed her, “If you can’t bear to watch, leave. Don’t cause trouble here.”
The teacher was distraught.
Meanwhile, Brody raised his hand, ready to punch again, but someone kicked the door open.
Olivia stood by the door. Her expression turned grim when she witnessed the scene.
Her son was being restrained by an adult, preventing him from escaping the beating. Liam was in agony. His face had grown pale, and his eyes were reddened with tears. All the while, the vice principal merely stood at the side and watched indifferently.
