Chapter 154 Wait For Me There
Upon hearing those words, Harry laughed. “But all I want is to share a meal with this pretty lady.”
After he finished speaking, he arched his brow at Olivia with profound implication.
Olivia was instantly rendered speechless. This guy is seriously glib–tongued.
“Can’t you speak like a normal person?” She shot Harry an annoyed glance before turning to King and said, “It’s fine. I’ll treat him to a meal. After all, it’s on your behalf.”
She hadn’t given it much thought, feeling there wouldn’t be any difference whether she or King treated Harry to the meal.
“Pretty lady, that’s more like it.” As Harry spoke, he purposefully glanced at King.
Being a man himself, how could he not understand what was on King’s mind?
Besides, Harry figured it would appear utterly peculiar for two men to dine together.
“I’ll treat you to a meal, but that’ll at least have to wait until King is feeling better,” Olivia said.
Harry had no objections. “Sure. Whatever you decide is fine with me.”
Seeing Olivia’s firm resolution, King felt helpless. He had no choice but to change the topic, asking, “How has the company been doing recently?”
“Several projects are being negotiated sequentially. Lucas has also been lending a hand.” Olivia roughly outlined the situation.
King nodded in acknowledgment and smiled. “You don’t have to be courteous with Lucas. If you need his help, just ask.”
“I haven’t been.” Olivia laughed.
The two of them chatted for a while longer, but when Olivia noticed King’s weary expression, she dared not keep him up any longer. She quickly said, “King, you should rest. I’ll come to see you another day.”
King was indeed exhausted, so he didn’t try to keep her. “Okay. Be careful on your way back.”
“All right. You should rest now.” Olivia waved her hand and turned to leave.
Harry chased after her. “Pretty lady, wait a moment.”
Olivia halted in her tracks, turned around, and looked at him with a somewhat helpless expression. “Is there anything else, Dr. Anderson?”
“Add me on WhatsApp,” Harry said, pulling out his phone and opening the app.
Olivia raised an eyebrow but didn’t object.
After they added each other on WhatsApp, Olivia put on a solemn expression and said with utmost seriousness, “I’m leaving King in your care.”
“Don’t worry. You can count on me,” Harry assured her, patting his chest confidently.
After leaving the research institute, Olivia didn’t return to the office. She parked her car at the roadside, gently tapping on the steering wheel with her fingers.
She was hesitant about whether or not to send a message to Nathan to discuss the matter of inspecting the tech park.
“This is business, not personal. There’s no reason for me to hesitate.” Annoyed with herself, Olivia picked up hepphone from the passenger seat and searched for Nathan’s contact on WhatsApp.
She texted: Mr. Carter, are you available now for me to inspect the tech park?
After sending out the message, she placed her finger on her lips, lightly biting it, feeling an inexplicable sense of anxiety in her heart.
Instead of receiving a text response, Olivia received a call from Nathan.
The car was enveloped in silence when the shrill ring of her phone abruptly echoed, startling her.
When she picked up the phone, her heart even palpitated.
“Do you want to go now?” asked Nathan.
“Yes. I happen to be free right now.” Olivia bit her lip before continuing, “I’m just not sure if you’re available.”
Nathan really wanted to say that even if he was currently busy, he would set aside his ongoing work and make time for her.
However, he didn’t say that. Instead, he asked indifferently, “Where are you right now?”
Olivia lowered the car window, took a glance outside, and responded, “I’m in the suburbs, near Northcove Road.”
“I got it. Wait for me there.” After saying that, he ended the call.
