Wife’s Return English Novel Chapter 12

Chapter 12 – Do You Think You Have the Right to Refuse Me?

Olivia’s return to Wirthon had been rushed, and she arrived empty-handed. After purchasing a house, she had spent several days buying necessities before finally settling in.

The next morning, she began searching for a school for Liam. She knew she’d be overwhelmed with setting up the company’s new branch soon, and she wanted to make sure Liam was taken care of.

However, during breakfast, Liam frowned and grumbled, “Mommy, do I really have to go to kindergarten? The kids there are so immature. I can’t relate to them! I know thousands of words, but they’re still playing in the sandpit.”

His small face was full of disdain, and Olivia was momentarily speechless.

At just four years old, her son was exceptionally intelligent. While other kids were fascinated with toy cars and action figures, Liam was captivated by complex coding and intricate LEGO sets. Occasionally, he even designed his own games to entertain himself.

But Olivia was determined not to spoil him. “Even if it seems dull, you’re only four! I’m sending you to school so you can experience the joy of making friends and learn how to socialize. I want you to be lively and optimistic, not a reclusive homebody!”

Liam’s little brows furrowed. “Mommy, you’re overthinking it.”

In truth, he’d rather go find his daddy than waste time in kindergarten! He had been plotting his escape for days, but his mother had already caught on. Even Mr. Valtor and Uncle Benjamin had received strict orders not to help him. He was frustrated!

Just then, the villa’s doorbell rang.

Mr. Valtor was still in the kitchen, and Benjamin had left early for errands. Olivia frowned as she got up to answer the door.

Who could be visiting so early in the morning?

Her new housekeeper wasn’t scheduled to start until the next day, and her overseas subordinates hadn’t arrived yet.

When she opened the door, she was greeted by a sight she never expected—Nathan Carter.

The man stood there with his usual cold, imposing demeanor, dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit. The morning light cast a golden glow on him, accentuating his broad shoulders, narrow waist, and long, powerful legs. He looked like he had stepped out of a painting—sharp, refined, and untouchable.

Olivia froze for a brief moment before furrowing her brows. “What are you doing here?” Her tone was indifferent, clearly not welcoming.

Nathan’s deep eyes darkened slightly at her chilly response. He replied flatly, “I came to see Liam.”

Behind him, Ethan stood silently, carrying several bags filled with LEGO and toys.

Olivia’s expression remained calm, though she had no intention of letting them in. Standing in the doorway, she blocked the entrance with her petite figure.

“Thank you, Mr. Carter, but there’s nothing of interest here. Please leave.” She reached out to close the door.

But before she could, Nathan’s hand shot out, blocking it effortlessly.

His gaze turned sharp. “What’s the hurry? I’m here to see my son. Do you really think you have the right to refuse me?”

Their hands were mere inches apart, and Olivia felt her breath hitch. Nathan had stepped forward slightly, bringing their faces closer.

For a fleeting moment, she hesitated—but only for a moment.

Quickly regaining her composure, she met his gaze and said icily, “Mr. Carter, as I’ve told you before, Liam is not your child. Please stop misunderstanding the situation.”

Her voice was steady, but there was a warning in her eyes.

“If you continue with these baseless assumptions, my son and I will be very distressed.”
