Chapter 49
Terrence’s fingers tapped against the armrest, his gaze dark and unreadable. The silence in the office was suffocating.
“She didn’t even ask what the problem was?” His voice was calm, but the tension in the air thickened.
Theodore swallowed. “No, sir. Ms. Levine… didn’t seem concerned at all.”
A sharp chuckle escaped Terrence’s lips. So she really didn’t care.
Before, Valerie would have dropped everything and rushed back at the slightest hint of trouble. She would have called him, begged him for answers.
But now? Nothing.
She had truly changed.
Terrence’s grip on the armrest tightened.
“Keep an eye on her,” he ordered.
Theodore hesitated. “Sir, if I may ask… do you want her back?”
Terrence’s eyes flickered with something unreadable.
“She’s mine.” His voice was low, firm.
Theodore understood immediately. No matter how far Valerie ran, Terrence wouldn’t let her go.
