Chapter 26
He sat in a wheelchair, appearing shorter than average, yet easily capturing the attention of others with his commanding presence.
Valerie walked up to him, feeling the curious gazes of the people around, and asked, “Shall we go upstairs?”
“No…” Ricky smiled faintly. “To be my wife, you’ll need to get used to living under the scrutiny of others.”
Valerie slightly furrowed her brows and said, “So, I have to stand here like an idiot?”
Ricky smiled. “Not exactly. You just have to look at me affectionately the way I look at you.”
As he spoke, he gazed at Valerie deeply, his eyes warm and tender, as if conveying a thousand emotions.
Valerie was speechless.
She couldn’t help but wonder if Ricky had become mentally disturbed after his legs were paralyzed, which would explain why he suggested putting on such a show in public.
She accompanied Ricky in the act until about ten o’clock. He finally seemed to have had enough fun and kindly said, “Alright, you can leave now.” His eyes were still smiling, but there was a hint of exhaustion behind them.
However, it was gone in an instant.
Valerie almost started to doubt if it had been an illusion.
“See you, then.” She turned to head upstairs.
As she left, Ricky took out his phone.
On the screen was a message sent by his assistant just one minute ago.
“When Terrence got off the plane, his stomachache flared up, so he was admitted to the hospital.”
Ricky sighed inwardly. “Tonight’s show was a waste.”
He had hoped to let Terrence witness the scene of him being affectionate with Valerie. It would’ve been very interesting to see his reaction.
Ricky wasn’t doing this because he had a personal issue with Terrence.
Rather, through his interactions with Terrence recently, he had realized just how incredibly strong Terrence was.
Terrence’s IQ, AQ, and FQ were all exceptional…
His only flaw was a lack of EQ.
That’s why Ricky was so curious—was Terrence really as rumored, not in love with Valerie at all, or was he in love with her without even realizing it?
