Chapter 92 – Named “Caroz”
Boris paid no attention to the exchanged looks between David and Caroline. He was too caught up in his enthusiasm.
“Imagine this—the Ellison Group’s first signature skincare line, named after the CEO and his wife. How brilliant is that? It showcases your love, boosts sales, and creates a legendary story in the business world—all in one go! Plus, the formula was personally developed by the CEO’s wife. Caroline, I’ll have the marketing team focus heavily on promotions. You could make a few appearances to endorse the product, showing that you use it yourself. The CEO’s wife’s choice! It’s guaranteed to be a huge success!”
Boris’s excitement grew as he continued to brainstorm, his ideas tumbling out in rapid succession. “Let’s call it ‘Elivid’! What do you think?”
David’s lips twitched, a barely contained frown crossing his face.
Caroline remained silent, her thoughts already racing in the opposite direction. ‘Elivid’? No way David would go for that!
Boris, noticing their quiet reaction, misinterpreted it. “You’re both quiet, so I’ll take that as agreement. No objections?” He clapped his hands enthusiastically. “Great! It’s settled!”
Caroline, sensing the conversation was heading into uncomfortable territory, decided it was time to leave. “This sort of decision isn’t something a regular employee like me should be involved in,” she said with a polite smile. “Mr. Boris, I’ll head back to the lab and focus on finalizing the formula.”
Without waiting for a response, she quickly exited the room, her pace quickening as she made her way to the lab. How horrifying. ‘Elivid’? I can’t even… The thought of it made her scalp tingle.
No matter the name, it wasn’t the branding that mattered to her; what mattered was getting her fair share of the profits from the line. She glanced over her shoulder as she left, sensing David’s darkening expression behind her.
Once she was gone, David’s voice broke the silence. “Elivid?” he said coldly. “Boris, how did you even come up with that?”
“Your last name and her first name—what’s wrong with that? It’s perfect!” Boris replied, unphased.
David’s irritation flared. “Shut up!”
Boris raised an eyebrow, undeterred. “You don’t like it? How about ‘Daro,’ ‘Dabrrok,’ ‘Elliro’? Maybe ‘Brookson’? Still, ‘Elivid’ sounds the best. Come on, pick one yourself.”
David stood, frustration evident in his posture. “Ridiculous.”
“But we need a name soon,” Boris insisted, not willing to let the topic go. “The branding process can’t move forward without it.”
David strode out of the office without a word, clearly done with the discussion.
“Hey! If you don’t pick one, I’m sticking with ‘Elivid!’” Boris called after him, but David didn’t stop.
As David reached the door, his hand on the knob, he spoke in a tone that was final, two simple words: “Caroz.”
Boris’s eyes lit up. “Caroz! Ah, I see—it’s a name related to Caroline! Why didn’t you just say so directly?”
David’s response was the sharp bang of the door slamming shut behind him.
Boris, ever the optimist, shrugged and smiled to himself. “Deep down, he really likes my naming idea. Why act so aloof? Caroz—it’s perfect. It’s soft, elegant, and ideal for a female-targeted market. Using ‘Caroz’ instead of ‘Caros’—brilliant! Subtle, yet genius. Perfect!”
And just like that, the Ellison Group’s first foray into the skincare industry officially had a name—Caroz.
This name would soon become famous across the country, a household name known to everyone.
Meanwhile, Caroline had no idea this was happening. She and Anna were still in the lab, working tirelessly to refine the formula. The hours had flown by in a blur of focus and collaboration.
Finally, just before the end of the workday, Caroline pulled off her gloves with a wide grin. “It’s done!” she exclaimed, throwing her arms around Anna in a tight hug. “We did it!”
Anna beamed, matching her excitement. “Yes, Caroline, you’re amazing! Using aloe vera was a genius idea—it solved everything!”
Caroline nodded, catching her breath. “Next, we’ll need to find testers to see how it performs on the skin.”
And so, while the name Caroz was becoming set in stone at the Ellison Group’s headquarters, Caroline’s focus remained solely on the science of the formula—unaware of the branding decision already made for her.
