Attractive Billionaire English Novel Chapter 12

Chapter 12: Don’t Secretly Get Pregnant with My Child!

Caroline’s hands flailed in the air, desperately trying to break her fall. She grabbed something soft—whatever it was—before her body hit the floor. The impact wasn’t as jarring as she expected, though her heart was still racing.

Her eyes fell to the object in her hand.

Wait… was this a bath towel? She frowned, confused. Where did this come from?

Her eyes slowly traveled up to meet the scene before her, and she froze, her breath caught in her throat. The shock of the situation hit her all at once.

David’s voice broke the silence, cold and commanding.

“Have you seen enough?”

Caroline’s pulse surged as panic flooded her body. She let out a shriek, eyes flying wide open. Instinctively, she covered her face, her body trembling with embarrassment and fear.

“Ahhh!” she cried, hoping to shield herself from the awkwardness that had overtaken her.

David’s expression darkened. His irritation was palpable as he barked,

“Shut up!”

Outside the door, Paul cautiously approached and knocked.

“Sir, is something wrong? Do you need security…”

Before he could finish, David’s voice thundered from within the room.

“Get lost!”

There was a brief silence, but Caroline could hear the knowing grin in Paul’s response as he muttered an apology and quickly left.

Meanwhile, David pulled the bath towel back around himself, wrapping it firmly around his waist. He looked at Caroline with disdain in his eyes, his tone dripping with scorn.

“Your attempts at seduction are pathetic. Try something new.”

Caroline’s stomach twisted. Seduction? Was that what David thought this was? She had never intended for any of this to happen. She hadn’t tried anything—this was all a misunderstanding. But the accusation stung deeply, especially considering the situation they were in.

“I wasn’t trying anything. You’re the one who suddenly—”

David cut her off with an incredulous smirk.

“Didn’t you just take a good, long look?”

Caroline’s face flushed instantly, the heat spreading up her neck as she stammered. Had he really just said that?

She opened her mouth to speak, but the words caught in her throat. What could she even say to that?

David studied her with an unreadable expression, his eyes narrowing.

“When you first married into the family, didn’t my grandfather arrange for a team of specialists from abroad to help you conceive?”

Caroline’s heart skipped a beat. If he hadn’t mentioned it, she might have forgotten about that entirely.

She remembered the pressure from Richard, David’s grandfather. He had spared no expense, hiring a team of experts to help her conceive. But ever since David woke up, that plan had been abandoned.

David moved closer, grabbing her chin roughly, forcing her to meet his gaze.

“When I ask a question, answer it. Don’t play dumb.”

The pain from his grip made Caroline flinch, but she refused to cry out. She wasn’t going to give him the satisfaction.

“Yes,” Caroline admitted, her voice low and steady. “Mr. Richard wanted me to have a child for you and did everything he could to make it happen. But the night after you woke up, I only went to the hospital once. After that, nothing else happened.”

David’s voice dropped to a dangerously quiet level.

“So, you didn’t conceive?”

Caroline couldn’t hold back her biting retort.

“Do you think it’s that easy to get pregnant? Do you think your… seed is of such high quality?”

The words cut through the room, and David’s eyes flashed with anger, his lips pressing into a thin line.

But Caroline didn’t back down.

“Besides, why would I have a child for you? We’re getting divorced. What’s the point of bringing a child into this mess? To grow up in a single-parent household? I’m an orphan, and I don’t want my child to go through what I did. Your mother wasn’t around for you growing up either. Do you really want your child to experience the same thing?”

David stood silent, his gaze hard, like a storm brewing beneath the surface. His grip on her chin tightened even more, causing her to wince slightly.

But Caroline refused to cry out. She wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of seeing her vulnerable.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, he released her with a sharp push. His voice was laced with warning, his words cold and harsh.

“You’d better stick to your word. Don’t talk one way and act another. Don’t you dare secretly get pregnant with my child!”

Caroline’s heart raced, and her mind swirled with conflicting emotions. She was caught in a web of tension, forced into a corner she couldn’t escape from. But one thing was certain—David’s warning would haunt her every day.

She had to stay on her guard.
