As expected, the interests of straight men were exactly as the internet described.
Joycelyn was about to place the order but wasn’t sure how to fill in the delivery address. On top of that, buying such intimate clothing made her nervous about it being discovered.
She felt incredibly embarrassed.
Joycelyn lay on the bed, rolling around with her phone, trying to gather the courage. After a while, her face flushed red. With a deep breath, she squeezed her eyes shut and clicked “send.”
She needed a safe delivery address.
When Ellison came out of the shower, he saw her message and sent her an address.
Joycelyn, her hands trembling, copied it and finalized the order.
In one swift motion, she hid the phone under the blanket.
As soon as she set it down, two notification sounds pinged.
Her face went even redder as she pulled out the phone to check the messages.
Ellison: [Did you buy it?]
Joycelyn bit her lip in embarrassment and didn’t respond for a long time.
Ellison: [Already asleep?]
Joycelyn could practically picture his calm, collected expression as he asked.
She felt mortified, wishing she could disappear, but there he was, serious and direct, asking like it was any normal conversation.
If it weren’t for the pictures he’d sent, she might’ve thought he was asking about something important.
She still didn’t reply, and Ellison sent another message: [If you don’t reply, I’m coming to find you.]
Panicking, Joycelyn quickly typed back: [I bought it, and I’m going to bed. Goodnight…]
Clearly, she was avoiding him.
Joycelyn immediately turned on her hazard lights, panicked.
It was her first accident, and she was frightened by the aggressive attitude of the other driver. Her hands trembled, unable to contain the rising panic inside.
“Selene, are you okay?” Joycelyn asked, her face pale, her voice filled with concern as she turned to her friend.
“I’m fine. Are you hurt?” Selene looked at her worriedly, noticing the fear in Joycelyn’s eyes.
Joycelyn shook her head, glancing at the furious man standing by her door. She quickly dialed, gathering the courage to open the door.
“Hey, you stupid woman! What are you sitting there for? Get out!” The man outside slammed his fists on the window twice and tried to yank the car door open.
The whole car shook.
Cars passed by slowly, most drivers merely glancing at the scene before driving away, indifferent.
Even though she was inside the car, Joycelyn felt an unfamiliar sense of danger.
“I’ll deal with him,” Selene reassured, unbuckling her seatbelt. “Don’t worry. I’m here with you. If he dares to hit you, I’ll step out and handle it.”
Joycelyn took a deep breath, realizing some things had to be faced head-on.
As she unlocked the door and was about to push it open, she caught sight of a tall, cold figure approaching.
With one swift movement, the man grabbed the aggressive man by the collar and yanked him aside, his eyes flashing dangerously. “It’s just a broken car. Is it really worth getting so worked up over it for a woman?”
The aggressive man was momentarily stunned but quickly recovered, throwing a punch at Ellison.
Ellison raised his other hand, precisely grabbing the man’s fist and twisting it back.
With a swift kick to the man’s knee, the aggressive man collapsed to the ground. If he hadn’t been leaning against the car behind him, he would’ve fallen flat on his face.
