- Chapter 19
- Anton rolled his eyes, clearly not impressed. He knew Amanda wasn’t the generous type.
- Amanda flashed a grin, lit two sticks of incense, and instantly calmed down the two agitated ghosts.
- Now that they were ghosts, the food from the human world was just for flavor, but this incense was the real deal, which made them feel genuinely at case.
- Ignoring them, Amanda set up her live stream and got to work. She sighed to herself, ‘Ugh, it’d be nice to make more money. Then I wouldn’t have to keep earning just to afford a hotel room every night.
- The elf said, “If you just saved a little, you could rent a place for a month”
- Amanda snorted. “You don’t get it. Life’s short. Enjoy it while you can.”
- She wasn’t about to save money. With her life running out, why not live in the best of everything?
- “Hey, guys, good to see you again. Amanda waved at the camera, and the comments exploded.
- Viewer A: [Finally, finally! I’ve been waiting forever!]
- Viewer B: [Thank you, Ms. Corkery. Without you, we wouldn’t get to see all the drama.]
- Viewer C: [Yeah, this twist is insane. I just can’t even.]
- www.
- Viewer D: I used to be Richard’s fan. Big thanks to Ms. Corkery for clearing his name.]
- Viewer E: [Thanks, Ms. Corkery.]
- Viewer D: [Thank you.]
- The comments flooded the screen with thanks.
- Amanda waved them off and said with a smile, “No need to thank me. He did good deeds and built up divinity, and that’s how he met me. There was a sliver of hope in his fate, and I just went with it. Alright, let’s get to the fun part. Who are today’s lucky
- winners”
- She rubbed her hands together, looking excited. After doing this for a while, she found it kinda fun. She got to eat so much gossip.
- But as she eagerly glanced at the screen, the viewers couldn’t help but shudder. They had the feeling that Amanda was more excited about sending them to jail.
- “Help, Ms. Corkery, please save me.” The moment Amanda picked up the call, a panicked voice screamed through the speaker. making everyone jump, Amanda looked at the scene behind Calvin Hail, and her expression shifted to something strange.
- When Calvin saw Amanda, he was on the verge of tears.
- Normally, the 20–minute drive home was a no–brainer for him. He knew this route and could even make it without watching, but today, he’d been stuck in this place for three hours, unable to make any calls or send messages.
- Then out of nowhere, Calvin got a notification that Amanda started her live stream. He thought he’d give it a shot, and to his surprise, he actually connected.
- “You have to save me, Calvin cried out, practically choking on his own tears.
- Hearing his desperate plea, Amanda perked up immediately. She comforted him, “Relax, I’m here to help you out. Now, close your eyes and follow my instructions. I’ll tell you where to go, got it?”
- “Okay.” Calvin didn’t hesitate and shut his eyes right away. At this point, Amanda was probably his only hope.
- Once his eyes we
- were shut, everything around him went pitch black, and his hearing seemed sharper. He suddenly heard a soft voice–probably a woman’s. He was about to open his eyes to look, but Amanda’s voice interrupted.
- “Take 10 steps north,” she said. After a moment of silence, Amanda grew impatient and urged, “Come on, move.”

- Calvin almost broke down, and he whispered, “Which way is north?”
- Amanda answered calmly, “Walk forward ten steps. Keep your eyes closed, or you
- you won’t
- make it out.”
- “Oh, okay.” As soon as Calvin heard that, he immediately shut his eyes tight, using all his strength to do so.
- Amanda gave another instruction. “Turn left and walk
- 20 steps.
- Turn right, walk 10 steps.”
- “Step back a steps.
- “Take 2 steps to the left.”
- In the dark. Amanda’s voice came steadily from Calvin’s ear. The voice of the girl he had heard earlier slowly faded away. Following the instructions, Calvin managed to avoid running into any walls.
- “Alright, open your eyes,” Amanda’s voice came again, and Calvin rushed to open his eyes.
- The familiar neighborhood in front of him made the weight in his chest finally lift. He said in excitement. “Thank you. Ms. Corkery.”
- Just call me Amánda, replied her.
- “Thanks, Amanda, You gave me a second chance of life.”
- “Well, how about paying me tenfold to show your appreciation?”
- Calvin froze, looking at her helplessly.
- Viewer A: [LMAO! Ms. Corkery, you’re so humorous.]
- Viewer B: [So this is what it feels like to be stuck in a ghost trap?]
- Seeing this comment. Amanda nodded and explained, “Yep, a girl died there. Too much ghost energy built up, so he couldn’t geLouL
- Calvin was stunned, and he asked, “Ms. Corkery, how did you know someone died there?”
- Calvin knew there was a murder case two years ago where a girl was killed there in a horrific way. The killer was never caught because there was no surveillance at the time, but he couldn’t figure out how Amanda knew about it
- Amanda pointed to the spot next to him and said, “Well, she’s right there.”
- A gust of wind blew by, and Calvin shuddered, suddenly feeling more scared.
- Viewer A: Give him a break. He’s about to break down.]
- Viewer B: [Hahahaha, I’d be scared too]
- Viewer C: [What, the girl’s right there? I wanna see her.]
- Viewer D: [Same here.Ji
- Ignoring the comments, Amanda kept her gaze in one direction and said, “Don’t worry, he can’t hear you. Alright, I’ll talk to
- him
- She turned back to Calvin and said, “She has something to say to you. Do you want to hear it?”
- Calvin hugged his arms and nervously asked, “If I don’t want to, will she kill me?”
- Amanda shook her head. “No, she wasn’t trying to hurt you earlier. She just wants to say something.
- Calvin was terrified, but he still said, “Let her speak”
- “Okay, you two can talk face to face,” said Amanda.
- With that, Amanda quickly drew a talisman, and before Calvin could even shout “wait“, it shot toward him.

- Chapter 19
- Calvin felt a cold chill in his eyes. When he opened his eyes again, he saw a bloody figure standing before him. He instantly jumped up, hid in the corner, and covered his head tightly, begging. “Don’t kill me, please. I didn’t kill you.”
- Taylor Brown looked at him, a little speechless. “I didn’t say you killed me. Can you at least listen to what I have to say?”
- Her voice was calm except for the faint sound of wind around her, and it was actually kind of soothing. Calvin started to feel less scared. He swallowed hard, gathered his courage, and said, “Alright, go ahead.”
- Taylor said, “Please tell the police that the person who killed me is the guy you had lunch with today.”
- You mean Zane Miller?” Calvin asked, shocked. That was his coworker, known for being a really honest guy. He protested, “No way, you must have the wrong person.”
- “No.” Taylor’s voice suddenly turned sharp, and a dark vibe began to gather around her. The wind picked up instantly. She added, “I’d recognize him even if he turned to ash.”
- Amanda, who had gone to pour herself a glass of water, looked up just in time to see Taylor’s eyes nearly covered in blood.
- She widened her eyes and sighed in her mind, “This wicked girl.
