In the dining room, three pairs of eyes simultaneously turned to Alex.
He hadn’t even set down the fork he had just snapped in half. His face clouded with anger, Alex stood up abruptly and stormed out. The remaining three exchanged puzzled glances.
Ellie paid no attention to Alex’s sudden outburst. After finishing her breakfast, she went upstairs to get ready for work.

On the other side of the street, Ellie managed to grab the girl’s collar, attempting to yank the necklace off. The girl fought back fiercely.
In the scuffle, the girl flung her takeout at Ellie, grabbed the necklace from her neck, stuffed it into her bra, and continued struggling.
