As soon as James returned to the company, he immediately reported the situation to Emily.
“Mrs. Carter, Olivia was about to sign the contract when Mr. Carter appeared out of nowhere” James reported, nervously wiping his sweat off.
“What?” Upon hearing this, Emily abruptly stood up, her expression turning gloomy
“Mr. Carter tore up all the documents,” James said as he showed her the shredded papers
Emily felt her vision go dark for a moment. She raised her hand to rub her forehead, her whole body uncomfortably seething with anger.
Pointing at his nose, she scolded James, “Why are you so useless? If you can’t even handle such a minor task, then you might as well just get lost!”
James hung his head low, too frightened to even dare to breathe,
In truth, he was in a tough spot. He couldn’t afford to offend both Nathan and Emily.

She took a deep breath before speaking, “Listen, Nathan. There’s no need for us to discuss this today because there’s no room for negotiation. The collaboration with Horizon Ventures must be terminated.”
Emily’s stance was resolute, leaving no room for negotiation.
Nathan’s handsome face was taut, his gaze heavily fixed on her as he said, “Mom, you’re ruining the reputation of Carter Group.”
“Reputation?” Emily laughed bitterly in her anger, her words dripping with sarcasm as she asked, “Do you even care about your reputation anymore? Is there anything in your mind besides that despicable Olivia?”
Whenever she thought about him having any kind of connection with Olivia, it tore her up inside.
“I am in charge of the company’s projects. You should know how important the tech park project is,” Nathan said coldly. “Horizon Ventures‘ system is renowned worldwide. Even if Olivia is not managing Horizon Ventures today, Carter Group would still choose to work with Horizon Ventures.”
Emily didn’t believe his explanation, not for a second.
She let out a cold chuckle and replied, “There are numerous renowned companies around the world, even the worst among them isn’t that bad. But why do you insist on using Olivia’s company’s system?”
As she continued speaking, Emily’s emotions surged with intensity. She was so infuriated that her chest heaved dramatically.
Fearing she would faint from anger, Nathan didn’t want to argue with her anymore.
