Chapter 128 Bound To Win
Nathan’s brows subtly twitched. He spoke in a soft voice, “I can pay any price you demand.”
“Hmph!” Harry scoffed disdainfully, lifting his chin to reveal a smug expression. “If there’s one thing I’m not short of, it’s money.”
Upon hearing that, not only Nathan but even Olivia furrowed her delicate brows. He’s as stubborn as a mule.
She couldn’t help but ask, “If it’s not for the money, then why did you choose to study medicine?”
With a turn of his head, Harry looked at her, chuckling in response, “Who said that practicing medicine is only for the money? Can’t it be a passion or hobby?”
“Is that so?” Olivia gave a cold laugh. “Having all the skills yet refusing to save people. Do you have any idea how many lives in this world go unsaved, forced to watch death approach with their eyes wide open?”
Nathan gazed intensely at her. Although she appeared delicate and frail, her voice was surprisingly firm and strong when she spoke.
Moreover, she seemed a bit angry.
With a dismissive twitch of his lips, Harry nonchalantly said, “What does this have to do with me?”
He had always followed his heart’s desires. If he felt inclined to save, naturally, he would.
What does he have to do with it? Olivia smiled angrily, momentarily at a loss for words. He’s a doctor, a healer of the wounded and the dying. How could he utter such cold and heartless words?
A wave of helplessness suddenly washed over her.
Olivia shook her head. This person is truly beyond help!
It seemed as though Harry could read her thoughts. He lifted his chin toward her and said, “Darling, don’t wear that expression. There are so many sick people in this world. How could I possibly save them all by myself, right?”
With a deep sigh, Olivia said, “But all I want is for you to help my friend.”
“Is that so…” Harry raised an eyebrow, deep in thought for a moment, before saying, “The medicine I’ve developed is quite precious. Since two groups of you have come all at once, who should I give it to?”
He deliberately drew out his words, his gaze flitting between Olivia and Nathan. A hint of mischief sparkled in his eyes.
Upon hearing that, Olivia and Nathan exchanged glances, their faces turning serious.
They all desired the medicine.
Having discerned their thoughts, Harry leaned back against the wall, his demeanor calm and composed. He proposed, “How about this? I’ll agree to save one of you. Why don’t you discuss amongst yourselves?“,
Olivia finally understood that guy was clearly out to stir up trouble.
Harry was a miracle doctor, yet he had such peculiar tastes!
Even though she was seething with frustration, she had no choice but to do as he said. Otherwise, she wouldn’t get the medicine.
At that moment, Nathan was the first to speak up. “Miss, I’m willing to make an offer. Would you consider giving it up to me this time?”
Give it to him? Olivia hesitated for a moment, but thinking about King’s physical condition and how long he could possibly endure, she found her answer in her heart.
And so, she declined, “I’m sorry, our people have been searching for Harry for a long time. This medicine is of great importance to us.”
Nathan’s face darkened. It seemed that this woman was determined to get her hands on the medicine.
Upon seeing that, Ethan quickly spoke up. “Miss, isn’t there room for negotiation? The medicine is also very important to us.”
Also important to them? Olivia furrowed her brow, raising her gaze to meet Nathan’s eyes. She asked in a nonchalant tone, “May I ask who amongst you requires medicine? Both of you seem to be in fine health…”
As she reached that point, she studied them from head to toe, then continued, “Meanwhile, one of my people is hanging on.”
What she was implying was that she needed Harry’s medicine more than they did.
