The news of Ethan began drafting a contract for collaboration with Horizon Ventures quickly came to Emma’s attention.
Over the years, she had bribed many informants at Carter Group by claiming herself to be wife Nathan had yet to marry.
Hence, the news about Carter Group planning to collaborate with Horizon Ventures naturally reached her ears quite swiftly.
Emma grimaced. She never imagined that what Fabian had said would actually come true.

Emma handed the bag she was carrying to Emily. The latter’s smile widened, and she feigned annoyance as she stared at Emma. “You could’ve just dropped by without buying me any gifts.”
“I was worried you wouldn’t like it,” Emma said coyly as she linked her arms around Emily’s.
Emily kept a straight face and said, “I’ll like any gifts, as long as they’re from you.”
Emma couldn’t help but laugh, feeling a bit smug inside. I’m Mrs. Carter’s favorite person. This is something Olivia can never compete with me.
Emily gently led Emma to sit in the living room. She then scrutinized the latter, frowned, and said in distress, “Why have you become skinner?”
“Have I?” Emma raised her hand, lightly touching her own face.
“You’ve lost some weight.” Emily sighed. “I’m sure it’s because of that brat, Nate.”
“Mrs. Carter, that’s not it-”

Emma hesitated for a moment before asking, “Mrs. Carter, are you aware of the proposed collaboration between Carter Group and Horizon Ventures?”
“What?” Emily’s eyes widened in shock. Horizon Ventures is the company managed by the b*tch, Olivia. Has Nathan lost his mind?
“Mrs. Carter, please don’t be upset. There might be a reason behind all this.” Emma gently patted Emily’s back, acting all sweet and considerate.
“Absurd! How absurd!” Emily was beside herself with anger. “What on earth was Nate thinking?”
A glint flashed across Emma’s eyes. She lowered her head and murmured, “I don’t get what Nate was thinking either, but it’s undeniable that Olivia is quite capable. She was able to manipulate Nate into keeping her by his side, and even now, she can influence his decisions. She’s truly impressive, but…” She glanced up at Emily, whose face was filled with rage, before continuing, “At this rate, I’m not even sure if we’ll be able to avenge Mr. Daniel Carter.”
Emma’s final remark successfully ignited Emily’s fury.
Although the company was currently under Nathan’s control, Emily was still nominally the chairman. Hence, she still had a significant say in the company affairs. “I absolutely won’t allow that b*tch influence Nate and Carter Group!”
With that, Emily rose and started to walk away.
“Mrs. Carter, where are you going?” Seeing that, Emma quickly gave chase.
“I’m going to the company to question Nate about what’s really going on!”
