The man shivered, watching, terrified as Nathan held the woman close. He knew he had made a grave mistake by crossing Nathan.
“No, no… it’s a misunderstanding, Mr. Carter,” the man explained frantically but didn’t know where to begin.
But Nathan didn’t care what he had to say. “Think before you talk next time. Words can cut deep, and yours definitely did. You clearly don’t know when to stop,”
With a stern look, he commanded, “Elijah!”
Elijah understood and immediately signaled the bodyguards behind him, “Take him away”
Elijah saw the look and immediately told the bodyguards, “Take him away!”
The bodyguards didn’t waste time and dragged the man out.
Even from far away, they could hear the man begging. “Mr. Carter, please! Please don’t…”
Nathan ignored the man and focused on Olivia, who could barely stay upright in his arms. The alcohol had dulled her senses, leaving her eyes glazed over.
She reeked of booze and had a rosy flush on her cheeks. No wonder the man just now got handsy.
But for some reason, this made Nathan angry. He grabbed Olivia’s chin, his voice icy. “Can’t hold your liquor, yet you act like a party animal? Are you sure you’re even capable of running Horizon Ventures?”
He squeezed hard, and Olivia yelped, “Ow!”
She glared at him and shoved his hand away. “Let go!”
He didn’t move, pinching her chin even harder. It looked like he was trying to hurt her. Olivia winced, pain and anger flashing in her eyes.
Nathan’s grip tightened, causing Olivia to wince as pain and unease clouded her expression. Socializing was already a challenge, and now she had to endure harassment from this man.
“It’s none of your business! Let me go!” Her voice quivered with defiance.
The sudden resistance surprised the man, and Olivia managed to break free, stumbling backward and struggling to steady herself.
Nathan acted swiftly, pulling her back into his arms. “Can’t even keep your balance,” he remarked sternly.
After the commotion, Olivia felt even dizzier, her head spinning. She leaned against Nathan, breath coming in rapid gasps. It was only then that he noticed something was wrong.
“Hey, what’s happening?” Concern knit his brow as he gently pressed a hand against her forehead.
Nathan’s expression shifted as he noticed an unusual warmth emanating from Olivia. “You’re burning up!” he exclaimed.
“This fever must have been going on for a while, considering how hot you are,” he added, worry etching lines on his forehead.
His concern turned into anger. “Seriously, Olivia? You have a fever, and you’re still drinking?”
“I don’t need your concern. I’ll be fine soon…” Olivia replied stubbornly, her voice barely audible.

Ignoring Olivia’s protests, Nathan lifted her up. “What… what are you doing?” Olivia’s voice trembled with vulnerability.
“Taking you to the hospital!” Nathan responded firmly, striding out of the hotel.
