Chapter 46: He Is Mine
Olivia’s heart tightened. She knew his chilling demeanor all too well.
Nathan’s expression always turned cold when he was furious. It seemed as if he wanted to freeze everything around him.
Olivia tried to explain, realizing she had misspoken, but Nathan had already stepped on the accelerator and started driving.
The car shot forward like a flying rocket.
Olivia was terrified and held onto Liam tightly, fearing he would fall out of the seat. At the same time, she grabbed the back of the seat with her other hand, saying, “Nathan… slow down!”
Nathan ignored her. His eyes glowed with lingering hostility. Olivia became even more nervous, fearing he would do something reckless.
Fortunately, Nathan drove the car steadily. After speeding all the way, the car finally stopped.
It was only then that Olivia noticed the surroundings and saw the familiar building before her.

“Why did you bring me here?” Olivia suddenly raised her voice with a hint of resistance in her tone.
Nathan heard her but did not respond. He exited the car and opened the rear door, saying, “We’re here to discuss Liam’s custody!”
He did not wait for Olivia to respond and bent down to pick up Liam.
“Nathan! You’ve gone too far!” Olivia’s temper flared. She embraced Liam even more securely, unwilling to let go.
Due to his bent posture, Nathan was now within arm’s reach of Olivia. His breath hung in the air, his voice chilling like a glacier. “Olivia, if you want to find another man, that’s your business, and I won’t stop you. But my son will not be calling anyone else ‘Dad!’ Initially, I had no intention of contesting custody with you, but now, I must reconsider. I will contact my lawyer immediately to handle this matter.”
“You have just returned to this country to start a business, meaning your present situation has various unstable factors. It is obvious that I am more suitable to raise Liam!”

Olivia never expected her callous remark to cause Nathan to make such a decision. She regretted it immensely and wished she had shut her mouth. Why did she have to let her tongue run and talk such nonsense?
Now, Nathan wanted to take Liam away, and with Olivia having just returned to the country, her situation was still unstable. Furthermore, everyone knew how formidable Carter Group’s legal team was. It had never suffered a defeat.
If things escalated, the custody battle would likely end up in Nathan’s favor!
No… this can’t happen! I can’t allow this to happen!
Olivia quickly suppressed her anger, saying urgently, “I won’t look for someone else, and I won’t find another dad for Liam. You can’t take him away! He’s mine!”
Nathan raised his eyebrows skeptically upon hearing this. His demeanor was intimidating, “I don’t believe you! First, there was Benjamin, and now there’s Lucas. Ms. Monroe, you seem to have many choices!”
Hearing these words, Olivia’s complexion soured. Is this his impression of me, a fickle woman?
His words struck a painful blow to her heart. Her expression turned cold as she responded, “Mr. Carter, you’re overthinking it! Benjamin is just my assistant. He helps me with work, and we work as partners. As for Lucas, he’s a friend and a client of our company. When I returned from overseas, I relied on his connections for work matters, which was strictly a professional relationship. Besides, I have a stable income and assets. I’m in good enough condition to raise Liam! You have no right to take him from me!”
