Her Hidden Crown English Novel Chapter 48

Chapter 48

Seline called after Suzanne.

Henry shouted even louder, “Stop right there, Suzanne Yates!”

But Suzanne acted as though she hadn’t heard. Her steps never faltered.

Henry gritted his teeth. It seemed there was no choice but to take action. He barked, “Stop her!”

The six bodyguards immediately moved forward and blocked Suzanne’s path. But before they could make a move, Suzanne raised her leg and kicked one of the bodyguards square in the face. The bodyguard yelled in pain.

Her kick was as fast as lightning, leaving everyone present stunned.

The bodyguard couldn’t even stabilize himself. Clutching his face, he toppled backward.

The room went silent for a moment. What had just happened?

Suzanne looked coldly at the remaining bodyguards. She parted her lips and said, “I haven’t had a good fight in years. This is a good opportunity for me to stretch.”

She had learned Taekwondo from a young age, thanks to Karlee’s advice that every woman should know how to defend herself.

Who would have thought that one day, she’d be putting her skills to the test!

What was even more ironic was that it was all arranged by Henry. She actually had to defend herself from Henry.

Seeing one of their own taken down, the bodyguards quickly sprang into action. Aware of Suzanne’s skills, they attacked her with ruthless force. Most of their strikes were aimed directly at her head.

But Suzanne was too quick. As the attacks came, she bent her body low, dodging them with lightning-fast reflexes. At that moment, she crouched down and swung her leg in a wide arc.

A sharp pain shot up the legs of the bodyguards, who screamed in agony. They quickly hopped back, clutching their legs.

Suzanne raised an eyebrow. Seizing the opportunity, she lunged forward and delivered a powerful punch.

Instantly, the entire living room of the Yates residence was filled with the sounds of cries and grunts.

Henry, Mandy, and Seline were all in shock. Suzanne actually knew how to fight.

Henry had considered every possibility, except this one. If he had known, he would have brought more people.

Seeing Suzanne’s fierce moves, Henry and Mandy instinctively stepped backward.

Mandy grabbed Henry’s arm and whispered in fear, “Why didn’t you tell me she knew how to fight?”

Henry shot her a glare with a darkened expression. He snapped back, “How was I supposed to know?”

Karlee had been the one raising Suzanne, and Henry had never bothered to pay attention to those details.

Anger flickered in his eyes as he clenched his fists. That damn woman actually allowed Suzanne to learn self-defense.

Seline, watching the scene unfold, swallowed hard. Suzanne was terrifying.

She recalled how Suzanne had attacked her earlier. If Suzanne had been more ruthless, it wouldn’t have been just a fall to the ground. Rubbing her aching side, she shuddered at the thought.

But something didn’t add up. All these years, she had never seen Suzanne practice any self-defense skills. Why was Suzanne becoming more mysterious by the day?

Seline’s fists tightened. She had to make sure Suzanne married Todd. That way, no matter how impressive Suzanne was, Jenson would never look her way.

Meanwhile, Henry’s expression darkened even further. He glared at the bodyguards and shouted, “What are you doing? You can’t even take down one—”
