The Pain Again Chapter 15
Chapter 15 Out in the hallway, Maddox took Elise to change her bandages. Glancing at a few fans nearby, he leaned in and said to Elise. “Heard Richard’s in this hospital too.” Elise said, “Tsk, can you believe it? Turns out he was framed. A fortune–teller spilled the truth or whatever. No clue who that person is, but damn, they must be legit to figure all that out.” Hearing that, Amanda rolled her eyes hard and retorted in her mind, ‘Oh, please don’t praise me. It’s disgusting Then Maddox’s tone turned sharp, laced with malice. “Would be nice if that fortune–teller could predict when Amanda’s finally gonna drop dead.” Amanda let out a cold laugh and shot up to her feet like a spring. The moment Maddox looked up, he saw Amanda stepping out of the room, holding a baseball bat. His voice cracked as he said. “Amanda, don’t you dare touch me.” She arched her eyebrows and replied, “Dare me? Let’s see.” And just like that, the bat came swinging toward Maddox. Amanda sneered, Thought you were tough, huh? Even tried to sell me out. Maddox, you’ve got some nerve.” “Don’t make stuff up. Maddox shouted as he dodged and bolted down the hall. “I never meant to sell you. I only wanted someone to teach you a lesson.” Amanda scoffed in her mind, ‘Seriously? He called hiring thugs to bear me up like treating me to a meal Amanda’s grip tightened, her swings coming faster. “Oh, cool. Well, now I’m just teaching you a lesson too.” Maddox shouted, “You’re insane, Amanda, I swear I’m gonna kill you! Anton had been listening nearby, and he pieced things together and realized this was the guy who tried to sell Amanda out. His face darkened as he floated over and slammed a hand down on Maddox’s shoulder, holding him in place. He shot Amanda a look. “Go nuts. I’ve got him.” Amanda flashed a grin and started beating the crap out of Maddox. Maddox howled in pain, scrambling to escape, but his body wouldn’t budge. It was like something invisible was holding him down. People in the hallway saw him run in place, looking like a total idiot They thought. What’s wrong with this guy? But the one doing the hitting looks familiar.” “Ms. Corkery?” someone recognized Amanda and called out. Right then. Elise ran over and threw herself between them, shouting. “Manda, stop hitting Maddy, okay?” Amanda rested the bat on her shoulder and glanced at Elise’s legs. She scoffed, “What, need me to heal you again?” Elise froze on the spot, her face paling Maddox yanked Elise behind him protectively, acting very much like the big brother type–except the person he was shielding wasn’t even his real sister. He glared at Amanda and sneered, “You’re just jealous of Ellie. Admit it, Amanda. She’s a genius. Silvermoor High School has already accepted her. She’s the whole Corkery family’s pride. Unlike you, you’re a total waste of space. Get lost…
